We were really proud of the Trigg crew for completing this project, so we entered it in the 2024 NZ Commercial Project Awards. Darrell and Marlene took the entire team and their partners down to the awards evening in Wellington, not knowing if they would win anything!
Team Trigg is busy with a great bunch of projects right now, and future project planning is also progressing well, with a pick-up in inquiries over the last couple of months. The Ruakaka Rec Centre complete and open to the community and our Stand Children’s Services project is full steam ahead. We’re also excited to be on the cusp of starting the Mangawhai Medical Centre, and a wet sanding bay at the Marsden Cove Hardstand.
Darrell, Marlene, and the team are proud to announce that Trigg has been awarded the main contractor role to partner with Stand Children’s Services Tu Maia Whānau (Stand) to redevelop the Maunu premises. This is a significant project for Stand and the Whangarei and Northland community.
Despite the challenges facing construction right now, we are busy with a range of ongoing projects and looking ahead optimistically to some exciting opportunities on the horizon.

It’s been another busy quarter for Trigg, which is how we like it. We handed over the 5,000m2 Marsden Bulk Store on schedule at the start of July. We’re also charging along with other projects on the go with three exciting projects in the early stages of planning or moving ahead for consent – the Ruakaka Rec Centre, Anchorage Retirement Village Apartments and a Floating Marina facility.
We’re proud to share our recent wins at the NZ Commercial Project Awards. Our Hundertwasser Art Centre project was acknowledged twice, with Darrell, Marlene and the team hitting the podium and picking up Gold and Special Awards for 2022.
The Hundertwasser Art Centre and Wairau Māori Art Gallery are now open. We may be a little biased, but we have to agree with others who have described it as an absolute taonga for the North and the country.
It’s been a busy first quarter for us. Our team is on-site and well into constructing a 5000m2 bulk store facility for Nutrinza. We’re also nearing completion on twelve 150m2 units at the Aubrey Business Centre, Marsden Cove. We’re pushing on with two new projects. The Ruakaka Recreation Centre is in detailed design for consent stage, and the Mangawhai Medical Centre is moving into the design stage now that resource consent is granted.
We’re delighted to be appointed the preferred construction partner for the new Ruakaka Recreation Centre. After a rigorous selection process based on Early Contractor Involvement, Trigg Construction was chosen, successfully winning the contract on our experience, track record, and community involvement.
