Meet the Team: Aidan Jones

Share This:

Aidan joined the team at Trigg last year as a Quantity Surveyor working alongside David Pook, bringing more than two decades of experience working as a builder and quantity surveyor in construction, and a refinery operator in the oil and gas industry. Aidan has lived and worked in Northland since 2015 with his family – partner Emma, a schoolteacher who loves kids and camping, Maddox (9) who loves to run and is very fast, Owain (8) who loves soccer and scoring goals, and Nicolaus (3 months) who mostly loves to laugh and cry. What Aidan loves most about Northland is the laid-back friendly attitudes, the fishing, and all the rain. Outside of work he spends his time on DIY round home, camping at Kai Iwi Lakes with the jet ski, and going on fishing adventures with the kids.

Just for fun, we put our Trigg 10 Quick Questions to Aidan, and this is what he had to say.

Cats or dogs? Dogs, have a lovely Huntaway X Mason.

Dance floor or karaoke? Karaoke, I have a beautiful Welsh singing voice.

Coffee or tea? Coffee all the way, 4+ a day keeps the doctor away.

Early riser or early night? Both! Mr 3 month-old makes sure of that!

Good book or Netflix show? Netflix, I read all my way through school.

Talent you wish you had? To be good at fishing, I don’t catch much…

Homebody or adventure seeker? Adventure seeker, I love to get out and about although the weather has been stopping that lately!

Most treasured possession? My family, they are irreplaceable.

Dream destination?  Madagascar, to see the giant Lemurs.

Real-life hero? Is Darrell Trigg, for getting both knees replaced at the same time!

Are skyrocketing construction costs here to stay?

Clients old and new have been asking us what’s up with skyrocketing construction costs and where we think things will head – up, down or stay much the same. Like you, we don’t have a crystal ball so we can’t see with any certainty where things will go. So, we asked Jeremy Blake, Associate Director – Quantity Surveying at Hampton Jones for his expert opinion. Here’s what he had to say.
