Floating Marina Office
How do you construct a floating building on water that’s high on architectural detail and craftsmanship, then transport and install it 75 nautical miles North?
A modern functional community facility that's been built to last
Working alongside a passionate community group and building from a pre-existing concept, our task was to refine and maximise the design within a set budget. The new facility also had to integrate seamlessly with planned future development adjacent to the site. A fixed opening date and delayed project start added time pressure, demanding precise coordination and efficient delivery.
Delivered as a complete design-cost-build package, the new Ruakākā Hub Library features a durable concrete slab structure clad in COLOURSTEEL® profiled metal. Expansive canopies frame the entrance to this single-level, 300 m² facility — home to a community library hub and the Whangārei District Council Service Centre.
The finished building is a modern, functional community asset— designed for long-term use and easy expansion. Through a strong partnered alliance approach, the project was delivered on time, on budget, and with full client involvement at every stage. The Ruakākā Hub Library stands as a proud example of collaborative community construction and thoughtful design that will serve generations to come.
