We’re proud to share our recent wins at the NZ Commercial Project Awards. Our Hundertwasser Art Centre project was acknowledged twice, with Darrell, Marlene and the team hitting the podium and picking up Gold and Special Awards for 2022. 13 of us adventured South to Christchurch for the Awards on Friday 19 May – check out the photos.

“This art centre is quite literally a piece of art itself.”

Here’s what the judges said about the Hundertwasser Art Centre project.

These prestigious awards set the benchmark for commercial construction in New Zealand and celebrate collaboration and innovation across the building industry. What sets these awards apart is that they recognise the contribution of the whole project team, the people who brought these amazing projects to life, rather than just the building itself. We think this project epitomises the power of a great team. One of NZ’s biggest community-driven projects and almost 30 years in the making, the Hundertwasser Art Centre was made possible when Prosper Northland Trust picked up this project, discarded by the Whangarei District Council, and took charge of the fundraising and building consent process, successfully raising $22 million in just two years, powered entirely by dedicated volunteers and over 50,000+ volunteer hours. Darrell, Marlene and Team Trigg are so proud to have played a part in seeing this unique building and Hundertwasser’s dream come to life.

Are skyrocketing construction costs here to stay?

Clients old and new have been asking us what’s up with skyrocketing construction costs and where we think things will head – up, down or stay much the same. Like you, we don’t have a crystal ball so we can’t see with any certainty where things will go. So, we asked Jeremy Blake, Associate Director – Quantity Surveying at Hampton Jones for his expert opinion. Here’s what he had to say.

Trigg Sports Awards

The Bream Bay Sports Awards were held in the Waipu Celtic Barn – a Trigg construction – on Friday 31 March. Ex-Bream Bay College head girl Laura Adams was the guest speaker on the night. Proud supporters and sponsors of this annual event that celebrates the success and hard work of our local sports people and teams, this is always a highlight on the Trigg social calendar.
