Ricki joined the team in 2020 as a hammerhand, then apprentice carpenter, and now he’s about to complete his apprenticeship and become a fully-fledged carpenter. We’re thrilled for him, and grateful he trusted us with his training. Ricki loves living and working in Northland. Born in Whangārei, his family moved to Hamilton for his schooling years, and returned in 2018, and Ricki says, “it’s good to be home”. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family – parents, grandparents, siblings and extended family – and playing sports like basketball and rugby. He’s not one to talk himself up, but we are. As well as big ups for completing his apprenticeship, we’re also celebrating his call-up to play full-time under contract as a prop for Northland Taniwha in the NPC. Ricki, we’re super proud of you and will be cheering you on loudly from the sidelines.
