Despite the current economic challenges in construction right now, things are still moving ahead. We’re busy with a range of ongoing projects and looking forward to some exciting opportunities on the horizon with more on those below.
Stand Tū Maia’s Children’s Village
This project is on the run to the finish line with completion due in August. The team are currently finalising the last of the exterior works and progressing with quality checking and defect management. Footpaths, driveways and landscaping are in full swing, and the images show the basketball court and pool in the final stages. Subbies are hard at work commissioning all the plant and equipment that will make this an amazing facility for the children and adults who will use it. The team have thoroughly enjoyed working with the client on this project and looks forward to seeing it full of people and laughter very soon.
Fagan Place Pensioner Flats
The team have recently started on-site in Mangawhai with Trigg project manager Chris leading this project to locate 14 new prefabricated pensioner units on the site. As head contractor for the Kaipara District Council, our role includes assisting with infrastructure such as sewer, stormwater, potable water, power and data to and from the units. Trigg is also constructing the decks, entries, landings, driveways and parking areas. Two sets of existing duplex units had to be removed to make way for the new units and drainage systems. When the project is complete, the lucky tenants will move into the brand-new units, and we’ll demolish the existing units and clear the entire site. The crew on site are on target for a finish in the fourth quarter of this year, and the current tenants are eagerly awaiting their new homes.
Incoming Projects
We’re excited to share that Trigg has recently been appointed as the preferred partner for some great projects coming up.
Wet and Dry Blast Bay – Marsden Maritime Holdings
Located in the hardstand facility at Marsden Cove, this project is due to start in the next two months. The Blast Bay allows boaties and the yard’s permanent contractors to blast the hulls of boats and wet sand them in preparation for painting in a way that’s better for the environment, with the waste captured and separated before it heads off for treatment.
Pensioner Flats – Saorsa Village, Waipu
For this project, we’ve been appointed as the preferred partner to construct 10 new pensioner flats to add to the thriving community created at Saorsa Village in Waipu. We have been assisting the Saorsa team with advice and costings per unit to help secure funding and get the project underway. Currently, the application for building consent is in and the Trigg team is finalising documentation with Saorsa to get things underway as soon as possible. The client and us are looking forward to getting started on-site with this awesome project.
New Commercial Centre – State Highway 1 Ruakaka
We’ve been working for a while with our client in an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) capacity as a partner for a new 1000m2 concrete commercial building to go on State Highway 1 (SH1) by the roundabout intersection with Port Marsden Highway. The client is also pushing ahead with plans to construct a business park in the area behind the current bakery and shops. The Trigg team has been working with the client and design teams to create a modern secure space for a business looking for the exposure that SH1 offers with easy access from the existing roundabout. Construction is set to begin within the next 4–6 weeks. If you, or someone you know, might be interested in leasing this property, get in touch with Darrell.
