Project Updates

Team Trigg is busy with a great bunch of projects, and future project planning is also showing no sign of slowing down. The Ruakaka Rec Centre is all go now consent has been issued, our Dent St office refurb is racing ahead to plan, and the pontoons for our floating marina office project are in the water. We’re also excited to be making progress with our Anchorage Retirement Village facilities and what will be the new Mangawhai Medical Centre.

Ruakaka Rec Centre

The Ruakaka Recreation Centre new build project now has consent and Team Trigg are working with the client to get the project underway. With multiple funding sources for this project, there are a few things behind the scenes that need to be done before we can start on site, but the team are gearing up for a site-start in the first quarter of 2023.

Dent Street Office Refurbishment

The Trigg team have started on a refurbishment of an office space that we worked on for the same client back in 2006. Bruce and Christine Leaf came straight back to us to help them with their latest project for their client Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Whātua, Rhys and the team are currently flat-out doing demo and prepping for the new framing to go in to form the new office and hui spaces. It’s great to be working with Bruce and Christine again, and we’re aiming to have the works complete by the end of this year or early next year.

Floating Marina Office

Exciting News, the pontoons are in the water! The QS team had been working hard to get the price through to the client and now we have the concrete pontoons in the water for us to crack into the project. This is an exciting, challenging project, just the type we live for in construction. Brad, Michael, Terence, David and Aidan have been working hard behind the scenes to get it to this point. We look forward to getting on the water and bringing you regular updates, so keep an eye out.

Mangawhai Medical Centre

Our team are working with the client and the design team, led by Philip Higham from Hawthorn Geddes, on the detailed design and getting ready to submit for building consent. We’re looking at having the site cleared early next year, in preparation for us to start enabling works. Essentially, we’re preparing the building platform and getting services in such as power and water for building the medical centre. The design is quite intense and we expect it to be complete by early next year and in for consent. We’re all looking forward to getting stuck into this much needed community asset.

Are skyrocketing construction costs here to stay?

Clients old and new have been asking us what’s up with skyrocketing construction costs and where we think things will head – up, down or stay much the same. Like you, we don’t have a crystal ball so we can’t see with any certainty where things will go. So, we asked Jeremy Blake, Associate Director – Quantity Surveying at Hampton Jones for his expert opinion. Here’s what he had to say.
