Another one bites the dust! With the year-end imminent, I’ve been reflecting on the past twelve months and looking ahead (briefly) at the next twelve. Firstly, last Christmas seems like it was only last week! We’ve completed several projects, including the spectacular Hundertwasser Art Centre, and invested in our business and team.
We’re delighted to be appointed the preferred construction partner for the new Ruakaka Recreation Centre. After a rigorous selection process based on Early Contractor Involvement, Trigg Construction was chosen, successfully winning the contract on our experience, track record, and community involvement.
We celebrated a significant milestone with the Hundertwasser Art centre’s stunning golden cupola safely lifted into place. It happened early in the morning in still conditions, in front of a crowd estimated at over 5000, so the nerves were high that everything would go to plan.
We’re thrilled to be back on-site and picking up where we left off before lockdown on projects currently in construction. Recently we completed and handed over to Marsden Maritime Holdings the first group of 12 commercial units at the Aubrey Business Centre, and we’ve started work on the construction of the next 12.
When Marlene got a call from One Tree Point Primary School about needing an away sports uniform, she jumped at the chance to help out. One Tree Point School is a Year 1-6 primary school with around 250 students, situated south of Whangārei on a beautiful site across from the Harbour.
10 September is World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s an opportunity for people in New Zealand and worldwide to raise awareness of suicide and suicide prevention. MATES in Construction has moved its annual Fly the Flag campaign to get behind suicide prevention from 10 September to 10 November due to the recent lockdown that continues to affect our mates in Auckland.
The night of Friday 19 March was the awards gala for the 2021 Trigg Bream Bay Sports Awards. We are proud to be naming rights sponsor of these awards that celebrate and promote the value of sport and acknowledge the sporting achievements of residents in the local Bream Bay community. Check out some pictures and find out who won on the night.
